Nestled in the majestic Mayacamas Mountain range nearly 1,000 feet above the Sonoma Valley is a vineyard that has produced award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon for three generations. Owned by the Louis M. Martini winery since 1938, the Monte Rosso vineyard (named “Monte Rosso” or “Red Mountain” for its rich, red volcanic soils) is a steep and rugged mountain vineyard with a desirable western exposure that produces truly memorable wines with a unique sense of terroir. Three generations of Martini winemakers have worked these mineral rich soils and deep-rooted old vines to produce wines worthy of the name Monte Rosso.

Tasting Notes:

This wine is brimming with dark cherries and baking spice. Undertones of leather and Licorice are elegantly framed by sweet vanilla from the French oak barrel aging.

This heavy bodied Cabernet would pair nicely with grilled meats such as venison and other wild game. The spice characteristics in this wine also make it an excellent accompaniment to sausages and cured meats.
